LED Bulb Source offers a variety of light
emitting diode (LED) products. Energy
consumption is a global concern and the products we offer aim to help reduce
that consumption. We are very selective
in the products we offer as we want you to be more than pleased with your
purchase. We routinely seek LED-based
products that are durable, energy efficient, and are cosmetically
appealing. If we find products that meet
those criteria and can offer them to you at a reasonable price, you will see
them here at ledbulbsource.com.
LED-based products are relatively new to the market and innovative
creations continue to be developed. We
promise to keep a close watch on new LED-based light bulbs, lamps, candles,
lanterns, flashlights, and other products as they become available. We
promise to deliver great LED-based products, an easy purchasing experience, and
unparalleled customer support. For
those of you who aren’t familiar with light emitting diodes, here’s a little
information on them:
Light
Emitting Diodes (LED’s):
- Light emitting
diodes, commonly called LED’s, are real unsung heroes in the
electronics world. They do dozens
of different jobs and are found in all kinds of devices. Among other things, they form the numbers
on digital clocks, transmit information from remote controls, light up
watches and tell you when your appliances are turned on. Collected together, they can form images
on a jumbo television screen or illuminate a traffic light.
- Basically, LED’s are just tiny light bulbs that fit
easily into an electrical circuit. But
unlike ordinary incandescent bulbs, they don't have a filament that will
burn out, and they don't get especially hot. They are illuminated solely by the
movement of electrons in a semiconductor material.
- LED’s are capable of emitting
light of an intended color without the use of color filters that
traditional lighting methods require.
- The shape of the LED package
allows light to be focused. Incandescent
and fluorescent sources often require an external reflector to collect light
and direct it in a useable manner.
- LED’s are insensitive to
vibration and shocks, unlike incandescent and discharge sources.
- LED’s are built inside solid
cases that protect them, making them hard to break and extremely durable.
- LED’s have an extremely long life span:
typically ten years, twice as long as the best fluorescent bulbs and
twenty times longer than the best incandescent bulbs.
- LED’s fail by dimming over
time, rather than the abrupt burn-out of incandescent bulbs.
- LED’s give off less heat than incandescent light
bulbs with similar light output.
- LED’s light up very quickly. An illumination LED will achieve full
brightness in approximately 0.01 seconds, 10 times faster than an
incandescent light bulb (0.1 second), and many times faster than a compact
fluorescent lamp, which starts to come on after 0.5 seconds or 1 second,
but does not achieve full brightness for 30 seconds or more.
